He wasn't in the area but said he would do his best to get by today. He made it at dusk assessed the situation quickly and told us what needed to be done. About 3 weeks ago on a Sunday late afternoon he generously took time away from his family to restore water to my father. Today I called with a panic thinking I had a problem he came insured me it wasn't my pump and that he would stand behind it. The best thing was he helped a complete stranger by fixing her tire so she and her daughter where safe. Great company and great man! He is a new business owner but not new to this field! 5 out of 5 starsIf you're just here for the summary, here it is: I can't recommend these guys enough. If you want to know about my experience, read on: Recently we decided to bite the bullet and invest in a new deep well. I polled my neighbors for referrals, did some Googling and eventually got quotes from three contractors, all of which were in the same ballpark. I selected Joe Millen/Waterfront Well based on my interactions with all three contractors. (FYI, Joe's price was the “middle” one, although based on my experience with other jobs price was the least of my considerations.) When I called Joe I had LOTS of questions and he answered each one patiently and completely, always willing to explain further or clarify. His quote was by far the most comprehensive and provided in writing via email. Of the other two vendors, one sent me a hand-written price with little to no specifics and the other just gave me their quote on the phone based solely on our location. The best way I can put it is that Joe projected competence and inspired confidence. He explained the permit process and gave me valuable guidance on dealing with the Middlesex Dept of Health. Because I was removing our old pump and wanted to do some site prep before they got started on the new system, he met me at the house 2 or 3 times to confirm what I was doing would work within their requirements, always on short notice and always without complaint and a smile on his face. When I called Joe he answered the phone or called right back EVERY time. He was always respectful and polite. When there was a potential problem during drilling the guys stopped working, let us know and then came back the following morning with additional materials to ensure stability of the bore during expected heavy rain the next day. In spite of those complications, they brought the job in on time and on budget. And maybe it was just luck, but I feel obliged to point out that Joe nailed the estimated bore depth exactly. In hindsight that doesn't really surprise me. I learned that Joe has been doing this since high school and it showed throughout the job. He clearly knows his stuff. My experience with the two guys on the crew working our job—Joe's brothers—totally reflected my experiences with Joe: friendly, competent, willing to answer questions and hard workers all day. Before this job I had never met Joe or heard of Waterfront Well Drilling and no one associated with them asked me to post this review. But my experience was so completely positive I felt like I couldn't “not” post a review! I can honestly say that in spite of some unexpected challenges including a global pandemic which affected supply chains, everything went as expected. No unpleasant surprises, no unexpected charges, just a job well done with customer service done “the old fashioned” way. Kudos to Joe and his crews. I can't recommend them enough. See more See less
